The ever-inspired Argentine netted a stunning new goal against Nashville – his 10th in just seven appearances – before converting his penalty in a thrilling penalty shootout. Messi lifted the trophy alongside DeAndre Yedlin, with Antonela close by to get the best view of the wild celebrations.
Antonela, who regularly attends Inter Miami matches alongside her sons Ciro, Mateo and Thiago, was joined on the pitch by Busquets’ model wife Elena Galera. The two women became close friends when their husbands were teammates at FC Barcelona.
Messi became the most decorated player of all time as he lifted the 44th trophy of his remarkable career. The legendary 36-year-old is now set to turn to MLS to keep himself in contention for an eighth Ballon d’Or.
